Abstract

The scaffold bending in Pathamakh plants was carried out during 1990–91. Modified leader system (T3) trained plants were compared with the horizontal bending of main scaffolds only T1) and tnaln scaffolds alongwith two secondaries T2). Significantly higher stock girth, angle of inclination, tree volume and precocity was achieved in T2 in comparison to T3 in T2 88.9% trees came into flowering during 1995 and 100% in 1996. In T3, only 63.9% trees flowered in 1996 and 100% in 1997. Tree volume in T2(29.76 m3) was one and half time more than T3 (19.13 m3).
