Abstract

Estimation of genetical components of variance and heritability from the analysis of biparental families showed high genetical variance for yield per plant and plant height and low genetic variance for oil content and thus the biparental population, offer the scope of practising selection aiming at deriving improved open pollinated population with respect to yield. The higher estimates of heritability for all characters can be attributed to method of estimation and/or sampling error.
