Abstract

The experiment was carried out to study the yield and yield contributing characters in differ ent coloured hoted cotton varieties. All the yield contributing characters showed significant differences among the varieties. The coloured cotton variety KC-94-2 was recorded maximum seed. cotton yield (20.56g.) per plant followed by varieties AKH-C-9701, CCNH-101 and CCNH-102. This increase in the seed cotton yield was contributed to the favourable increase in the characters viz. number of syrripodta per plant, number of bolls per plant, boll weight, biological yield and harvest index.
