Evaluation of evergreen varieties of pomegranate under Punjab conditions

Abstract

Studies on evaluation of evergreen CVs. of pomegranate under Punjab conditions were conducted at PAU, Ludhiana. The maximum girth and tree height was recorded in Ganesh, PS-77 and Moga-Local and minimum in Basse-in-Seedless. The CVs. of Ganesh and PS-77 were the earliest to flower and Panipat Selection was the last. The grains of CV. Ganesh were the heaviest. The juice acid content was lowest in G-137. The incidence of black spot disease was the lowest in Moga-Local and Basse-in-Seedless CVs.
