Abstract

Mohalanobis D2 statistic was utilized to reveal the genetic diversity among the 36 chickpea genotypes. In group constellation seven clusters were formed. It was observed that there is no relation between geographical and genetic distances. All the clusters found to be heterogeneous except single genotype clusters. Genotypes ICC 1452 and ICCL 85319 were placed under maximum distant groups and it is suggested that these parents can be used in hybridization to obtained transgressive segregants.
