Abstract

The experiment was conducted during the year 1998–99 and 1999–2000. The interaction effect of nitrogen and row spacing was found significant for all the contents of garlic bulb, maximum being for moisture, protein, nitrogen, potassium, sulphur, ascorbic acid, and volatile oil content of bulb with the application of 200 kg nitrogen ha−1. (N4) and row spacing 15x7.5 cm (S2). The minimum values for these parameters were observed with 50 kg nitrogen ha−1 and 10x7.5 cm row spacing (NISI) treatment combination during both the years.
