A Field experiment was conducted during the winter season 1999–2000 to study the requirement of water on the basis of IW: CPE ratio and phosphorus requirement of chickpea. Irrigation at 0.4 IW: CPE ratio gave maximum (1804 kg/ha) and significant higher grain yield than no irrigation and irrigation at 0.2 IW: CPE ratio. The grain yield increased with increasing dose of P upto 60 kg/ha.
