A field experiment was conducted during rainy (kharif season of 1999 under rainfed upland conditions of low fertility to study the nutrient requirement and row ratio of niger (Guizotia abyssinica L.f. Cass.) + fingermillet (Eleusine coracana L. Gaertn.) intercropplng system. The highest niger equivalent yield (4.76 q/ha) and land equivalent ratio (1.62) was obtained under 2:3 additive series with 40 kg N, 40 kg P2O5 and 40 kg K2O per hectare, which was at par with 20 kg N, 40 kg P2O5 and 40 kg K2O per hectare. The highest monetary advantage index (2185) was also obtained in the same treatment.
