Study found that net returns obtained by farmers are higher from seed production than commercial production (compared with data from cost of cultivation, scheme, Department of Agricultural Economics, HAU, Hisar) both in case of H.S.D.C. and Super Seed, a private company involved in cotton seed production and marketing. Producer's share in consumer rupee found to be 67.67 per cent in case of H.S.D.C and 50 per cent in case of super seed. This difference is because of the subsidy declared by H.S.D.C. on cotton seed.
