Abstract

Five bread wheat genotypes namely HD1982, HD2009, WH283, C591 and WC385 were evaluated under four levels of Salinity i.e. 51 (6.4 dS/m), 52 (9.7 dS/m), S3 (12.5 dS/m) and 54 (15.2 dS/m) alongwith normal (non-stress) soil (2.6 dS/m). Based upon yield response advantage (YRA) indices, WH283 was the best variety having the highest value (1.48) which can be grown at different salt stress environments. On the basis of salt tolerance advantage (STA) indices, the WC385 was the best genotype with highest STA value (1.15), which was followed by WH283 (1.13). Thus both the genotypes can be used as donors while breeding for salt-stress environments.
