Abstract

A pot experiment using barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) var. BL-2 was conducted with five levels of saline irrigation water viz., 0, 4, 8, 12 and 16 dSm−1 EC and four levels of presoaking of seed treatment viz., 0, 500, 1000 and 1500 mg. L−1 of cycocel to find out their effect on quality and yield attributes. Quality and yield attributes of barley decreased significantly with increase in salinity of water and markedly above the EC 8 dSm−1. While presoaking of seed in cycocel progressively increased the quality and yield attributes of barley and being maximum at higher concentration i.e. 1500 mg Ll.
