Field experiments conducted during the rainy season of 1997–98 revealed that three sprays of penconazole (Topas) @ 0.1% at 15 days interval were most effective in controlling powdery mildew of okra (Erisyphe cichoracearum DC) and gave highest yield. This treatment was at par with carbendazim spray @ 0.1% and hence may be used as an alternate molecule to avoid resistance against the pathogen.
