Population wise Leiodinychus parasiticus Choudhury and Mukherjee was the most dominant mite in Himachal Pradesh in stored food products. Acarus siro L infested seven types of stored food products out of 14 types examined, Tyrophagus longior (Ger vais) infested four Aleuroglyphus ovatus (froupeau) three, Caloglyphus berlesei (Michael) two, Tarsonemus confusus Ewing, two and Austroglycyphagus geniculatus (Vitzthum), Pygmephorus nilanjana Putatunda, Thyreophagus entomophagus (Laboulbene) and Glycyphagus geniculatus each infected only one type of store products. The most dominant predatory benificial mite was Cheyletus malaccensis that was active in nine store products in Himachal Pradesh.
