Thirty-six genotypes of Indian Mustard (Brassica juncea) were evaluated for 17 quantitative characters during rabi 2000–01 under rainfed condition at Bastar Plateau Zone. Genotypic coefficient of variation, heritability and genetic advance as per cent of mean estimates were high for total siliquae per plant, 1000 seed weight, harvest index, seed yield and oil yield. The new characters viz., siliquae bearing length and density of primary and secondary branches exhibited moderate estimates for the genetic variability parameters, hence had limited significance in the improvement of Mustard at Bastar Plateau Zone.
