Field activities of parasitoids on diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.) in Southern Maharashtra

Abstract

In Parbhani, Southern area of Maharashtra (India) Apanteles plutellae Kurdj, a larval and Oomyzus sokolowskii Kurdj., a pupal parasitoid have been identified as predominant on diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L. on commercially grown cauliflower fields. Maximum parasitisation i.e. 52.50 per cent (20.00% larval and 32.50% pupal) was recorded in February. The highest larval (20.00%) and pupal (34.67%) parasitisation were recorded in the month of February and March, respectively.
