The rice genotypes viz., White Ponni, ADT 38, ADT 39, IR 20 and TRY 1 were studied in pot culture to examine the chlorophyll content variation at four growth stages i.e., vegetative, tillering, panicle initiation and flowering. Salinity affected the chlorophyll pigments, where the decrement was more in salinised rice seedlings. Salinity decreased chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b and chlorophyll a/b ratio. TRY 1 and ADT 39 had more chlorophyll and White Ponni and ADT 38 found to have low chlorophyll content.
