The survey conducted in three major paddy-wheat crop rotation following districts of Haryana State suggested the possibilities of replacing conventional tillage system by no-tillage system under widely varying conditions of climate, weeds and soils without loss in the yield. The cost of cultivation of wheat crop was observed higher in conventional tillage (Rs. 10569.25/ha) than no-tillage (Rs. 7258.41/ha). The grain yield was found almost equal in both the systems. A net saving of Rs. 2140.33 per hectare with the adoption of no-tillage sowing of wheat was found over the conventional method of sowing. Wheat sowing can be advanced 7–10 days by using no-tillage system in comparison to conventional system, which affects grain yield to a great extent.
