A field experiment was conducted during kharif 1996 to study the effect of response of herbicides on nodulation in soybean. Both nodule count and nodule dry weight differed significantly due to weed control treatments. At both 30 and 45 days after sowing, lactofen @ 90 g a.i./ha recorded higher nodule number (7.33 and 35.0) and nodule dry weight (44.0 and 218.33 mg/plant) respectively).
