Relative susceptibility of 37 mungbean gnotypes to Callosobruchus chinensis were studied in the pre-monsoon and monsoon season. Among the 37 genotypes, the lowest egg laying (8.67 eggs), lowest number of adult emergence (0.00) and minimum weight loss (0.00%) were found on the genotype HUM-4-1 during monsoon season. During pre-monsoon season, minimum Weight loss(1.27%) was observed on the genotype A-39 coupled with lower adult emergence le.33) were recorded on Pusa-96-32 but maximum weight loss (23.86%) were found on genotype A-225 having higher adult emergence (23.67) during pre-monsoon season. Highest adult emergence (38.00) and weight loss (38.61) were observed on the genotypes 8ML-189 and A-112, respectively in monsoon season. Highest germination percentage even after damage of seeds was recorded from Bhutni-1 and A-39 (90%) whereas no germination was recorded from PUSA 96–32, PS-16, SML-175. From the overall observation it has been found that HUM-4-l, A-39 and Bhutni-1 were least susceptible whereas Pusa-96-32, SML-189, A-225 were highly susceptible 8l to pulse beetle (C. chinensis) attack.
