Path coefficient analysis for grain yield and 12 other agro-morphological traits were studied in 34 rye introgressed wheat derivatives separately under rainfed (E1) and irrigated (E2) environments. The study revealed high direct positive contribution of biological yield, harvest index, days to maturity, LWR and 1000 grain weight towards grain yield under rainfed (E1) conditions. However, in irrigated condition (E2) biological yield, harvest index, days to heading, spike length and spikes plant−1 excised positive direct effects on grain yield. Thus, biological yield, harvest index, days to maturity and LWR due to their high direct effects and indirect effects via other traits appear to be the traits of importance worth considering, while selectingof drought tolerance.
