“Cellulolysis rate” of the pathogenic fungus, Curvularia pallescens was studied on filter paper discs. There was positive correlation between the growth of the fungus and weight loss of the filter paper. The weight loss caused by the fungus was influenced by nitrogen content of the nutrient solution and pH. It increased with increasing concentration of nitrate content and at pH 7.0 of the nutrient solution.
