Abstract

Aonla (Emblica officinalis Gaertn.) is commonly propagated by seed which results in high variablities. In the present investigation soft wood grafting and patch budding propagation practices were carried out on 5 to 12 months old local seedlings (Rootstock) of aonla having 2.0-2.5 cm girth at collar region and scion of 8–10 cm length. The maximum percentage of successwas observed in soft wood grafting than patch budding. High percentage of success in soft wood grafting was recorded in the month of January (86%), whereas in patch budding maximum success observed in August (40%).
