Correlation studies in sunflower revealed that seed yield was positively associated with yield components. Among yield components, correlation of number of filled seeds per head was maximum followed by 100 seed weight, seed filling per cent, head diameter, plant height and stem diameter. Path coefficient analysis showed that the direct effect on seed yield was maximum for number of filled seeds per head followed by 100 seed weight. The maximum indirect effect for any character was through number of filled seeds per head and 100 seed weight, those themselves were major direct contributors of seed yield in sunflower.
