Abstract

The tannin content of different agro-wastes due to cultivation of Pleurotus spp. was evaluated. All the Pleurotus spp. brought about maximum reduction in tannin content of soybean + wheat and soybean + paddy straw. P. florida was more efficient in reducing the tannin content of soybean + wheat straw. Therefore, reduction in tannin content of straws increased the digestibility and more energy made available to the animals, thereby increased the feed value of the spent straws.
