Abstract

Five F2 populations of groundnut viz., CO 3 x M 13, TNAU 387 x M 13, CO 3 x ICGV 93260, TNAU 325 x M 13 and CO 2 x GG 2 were studied for character association among the vegetative, reproductive and biochemical traits. The study reveals that for improving the pod and kernel yield in groundnut, selection may be exercised on number of mature pods, hundred pod weight, hundred kernel weight, maturity per cent and sound mature kernel yield per plant.
