Abstract

The damage by mango shoot borer was recorded in all the cultivars of mango with the maximum in Amrapali (30.41%) during the period of peak activity in the month of September. Among the different insecticides tested for efficacy methyl parathion proved to be the best followed by monocrotophos and endosulfan reducing damage between 80.56% to 67.50%. Neem oil also proved effective in reducing damage it performance was better compared to control though inferior to other treatments.
