Two sets of experiments were conducted during 2001/2002 at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research to evaluate the growth of ornamental plants in bioremediated soil and agricultural soil with and without VAM application. In the first experiment VAM inoculation increased the plant height over un-inoculated treatments only on the 120th day. At all other stages (210,270 and 360th days) VAM inoculation had no effect in increasing the plant height. In experiment II, the highest plant height was recorded in bioremediated soil in both VAM inoculated and un-inoculated containers. Among different plant species Parkinsonia aculeatarecorded significantly higher plant height in all the stages of observation in both bioremediated and agricultural soil.
