Abstract

During 1999–2001, a total number of 120 on- farm trials were conducted to evaluate the performance of HYV of rice Saket-4 and hybrid rice Pro-agro-6201 in the villages adopted under technology Assessment and Refinement through Institution Village Linkage Programme in Alampur-Gonpura panchayat of block Phulwarisharif, Patna (Bihar). Findings of the study clearly show that in comparison to local variety, Seeta, Hybrid rice Pro-agro 6201 and Saket-4 produced 95.9 and 29.9 per cent more yield respectively. The cultivation of both the cultivars was also economical, although Pro-agro-6201 gave more return per unit area than Saket-4.
