A pot culture experiment using sterile, phosphorus deficient soil was conducted to study the symbiotic relationship of tamarind seedlings with VAM-fungi (viz.,Glomus epigaeum, Glomus mosseae, Gigaspora calospora and their mixture) in respect of growth parameters like height, number of leaves, root length, dry weight of shoot and root and mycorrhizal dependency percentage. From the results it was observed that all the treatments of inoculation tamarind seedlings with VAM fungi were superior over control. The combination treatment of Glomus epigaeum + Glomus mosseae + Gigaspora calospora mixture recorded the maximum growth and yield parameters under study.
