Cotton Research Unit, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, India.
The field experiment was conducted at Cotton Research Unit, Dr. PDKV, Akola during the Kharif season 2006–07 to find out the response of Bt hybrids for various spacings. Spacing of 90 x 60 cm recorded significantly higher yield than wider spacing of 90 x 120 cm, 90 x 90 cm and closer spacing of 90 x 45 cm. Spacing of 90 x 45 cm produced significantly higher seed cotton yield than spacing of 90 x 120 cm and 90 x 90 cm, however differences between later two spacings were not significant. Both the Bt cotton hybrids (Bramha BG and Atal BG II) did not differ significantly in respect of seed cotton yield.
