Income and employment generation in mixed farming systems in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

It was observed that the overall average net income obtained from crops of paddy, wheat and sugarcane was Rs.5516, Rs.6614 and Rs.24142 per hectare and family labour income generation from these crops Rs.7098, Rs.8012 and Rs.24142 per hectare per year. The human labour employment was 235.60, 146.42 and 118.81 man-days per annum, respectively. An on overall, net income from buffalo rearing was Rs.1064 and family labour income Rs.4373 per farm whereas human labour employment generated 78.41 man-days per annum. Category wise net income analysis indicated that the family labour income Rs.6038, Rs.7787 on large households and human labour employment highest 80.50 man-days on small households. In case of cow milk production, the average net income was Rs.1559 and family labour income Rs.4758 per farm along with human labour employment in 74.76 man-days per annum.
