Frontline Demonstration on rapeseed (Brassica campestris L., var. Toria) conducted four years (2004–05 to 2007–08) on the farmers field of Bhadrak district under North Eastern Coastal Plain zone of Orissa revealed that the pre-released variety ORT(m) 7–2 under improved practices (IP) recorded the highest seed yield of 1243 kg/ha followed by released variety Parbati (1201 kg/ha) and TS-29 (948 kg/ha). Adoption of improved practices recorded 153% higher seed yield (1062 kg/ha) as compared to local practice (427 kg/ha). The additional gross return of all demonstrations gave an income of Rs. 13531 to Rs. 20635/ha and the incremental benefit cost ratio (IBCR) ranged to 2.51 to 4.79.
