Abstract

Maximum spore germination of Corynespora cassiicola was obtained with the spore concentration of 125 spores/ml. In general spore germination increases with the decrease of spore concentration. Incubation of spores under alternate darkness and light resulted in maximum spore germination (91.2%) and germ tube growth (131.3 μm) followed by incubation of spores in continuous light and continuous darkness. Spores germinated over a range of 75–100% relative humidity and maximum spore germination (95.5%) and germ tube growth (187 μm) was observed at 95% relative humidity.
