The wheat rhizosphere isolate, A. haemolyticus A19 when screened for inorganic phosphate solubilization, it solubilized all test phosphatic compounds except aluminium phosphate. Maximum zone of dissolution and solubilization efficiency were found as 2.3 cm and 200% respectively after 48h of incubation. Reduction in pH of Pikovskaya's growth medium from 7 to 3.43 and its HPLC analysis detected presence of citric, oxalic, succinic and malic acid. Organic acids mediated pH drop was identified as principle mechanism of phosphate solubilization by A19.
