Abstract

Brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) is one of the important fruit vegetables in India. A study was conducted at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore to study the effect of different levels of nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients and seasons viz., kharif and rabi on brinjal hybrid COBH 1. The results indicated that the kharif season crop exhibited more height than the rabi season. Similarly, the kharif season crop recorded higher yield than the rabi season crop. The uptake of P was comparatively low during rabi, when compared to kharif season. The yield during kharif was 58.42 t ha−1 and during rabi it was 55.14 t ha−1 with application of 175:100:100 kg of NPK ha−1.
