Production and economics of different rabi crops grown under limited irrigation situation of Mandsaur district (Madhya Pradesh) India

A demonstration cum field experiment was conducted at Patan Farm, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mandsaur during the year 2008–09 to 2012–13 in rabi seasons to study the performance of different varieties of crops grown under Malwa Plateau situation of Mandsaur district. On the basis of wheat equivalent yield, among various crops demonstrated and tested, garlic crop gave the highest yield and net return compared with other crops followed by wheat. Similarly, among the different varieties tested G-282, Pusa Bold, Simpo S-33, NRCSS AM-1, NRCSS AA-1, JI-4, JG-130 and GW-273 variety of garlic, mustard, coriander, fenugreek, ajowain, isabgol, gram and wheat, respectively were significantly superior compared with other varieties tested.
