Soil characterization is important in evaluating sustainable soil management practices. This study presents findings on ten physical and chemical properties of soil samples obtained from the mountainous region of Thua Thien Hue province and correlates these characteristics with various cropping patterns.
245 composite soil samples were collected from the 0-30 cm layer of different cropping systems from November to December 2022. The samples were air-dried and passed through a 2 mm mesh sieve, after which they were analyzed physico-chemical characteristics using standard laboratory techniques in 2023.
The findings of our study reveal a significant correlation between soil properties and various cropping patterns. All ten analyzed properties show significant differences between cropping systems, with CEC and OC content being the most critical factors influencing other soil characteristics.
