In the Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET), frequent path breaks occur in the route due to unrestricted node mobility and node failures which violate the quality of service (QoS) requirements. In this paper we propose Path Break Prediction (PBPQR) algorithm which predicts the future state of a node to decide whether the node is a good selection as a router or not. The future prediction depends on the mobility and power level of a node. In PBPQR, the packet loss and end-to-end packet delay are reduced. The algorithm selects more stable paths and hence QoS requirements could be satisfied. The proposed algorithm is implemented and simulated using NS2 simulator and the simulation results show the efficiency of the algorithm.
