Abstract

Spreadsheets are broadly used for data entry and manipulation. These are not only being used in native business and markets but in areas such as biological and medical sciences. The effectiveness and attractiveness of spreadsheets can be enhanced by their integration with standard packages like visual basic. Since such packages are available in computers therefore can increase the use of spreadsheets by large number of potential users. The use of spreadsheets in statistics courses is common. In this paper we discuss many shortcomings resulting from this approach and have suggested a technique integrating a spreadsheet with visual basic by including the characteristics of both the software by solving some problems from the introductory course of statistical Physics.
