The number of students joining science is decreasing very fast. Research standards in India are almost lying at the bottom. To make India a knowledge centre in coming years, a lot of work requires to be done in uplifting the standard of education from schools to University level. The introduction of ICT in education has become a major requirement for facing the challenges before the education system. A study of the requirement, adoptability and applications of ICT is done especially with reference to the Teaching and Learning of Physics concept. Learning Physics poses a big difficulty to the school and under graduate students. It is found the concepts in physics should be taught in a more attractive, thought provoking manner using simulations, animations and presentations rather than dry and dull mathematical definitions. The present scenario of the use of ICT in the form of Digital Classroom and its acceptance by teachers and students is found to be encouraging.
