This paper centres its discussions on a number of paradigms in the context of catholic education for values in the building of democratic India of the 21st Century. Education in India regarded from a short point of view results in expediency and spiritual bankruptcy. Value education, therefore, becomes a compelling priority in the agenda of any Catholic institution in India. It looks at education for values from the philosophical perspectives and accounts it in terms of sociological aims spelled out by the catholic vision and mission of education. Thus, this paper regards Catholic education for transvaluation of values as the only panacea to cure this ill-infected modern society and to make this world a more harmonious place to live in.
