Assistant Professor,
Workplace adversity is an issue gaining increasing attention all over the world. But health and the management of stress at work place have not been on the focus of attention for a long period of time. As the number of women participate in the workforce and take lead in professional front, the health and wellness of women have crucial role in the building up of a better family and society. While women share many of the health concerns related to men at work place, they also face unique health issues. It has been observed that the mental and physical health support enjoyed by women at their workplace were not statistically significant in comparison with that of men (Sutherland, E., 2012). Women face challenges in the workplace. Only since past few decades the health of women has been a formidable issue in the society. Different agencies addressed issues directly or indirectly resulting in a change in the health of women at the workplace (Watkins, 2003). This paper focuses on women's health and management of stress at their workplace, and explores the personal resilience as a strategy to be adopted for management of stress at workplace and building up a better family and society.
