A study of perceived stress in relation to mental health among adolescents

Abstract

The present study intends to investigate the relationship of perceived stress with mental health of adolescents. Adolescent is a period of storm and stress and stress can lead to mental health issues. This stage is considered as an important phase for mental health and well being. A sample of 60 adolescents in the age group 14–18 years was taken for the purpose of the study with equal number of males and females. Data was obtained by administering Perceived Stress Scale and General Health Questionnaire. Correlational analysis is used for studying the relationship of perceived stress with mental health of adolescents. The implications of the study are further elucidated.
