Teaching Biology using Concept Attainment Model (CAM in Biology)

Abstract

The teachers play a pivotal role of mediator and facilitator in the whole teaching learning process. For effective transaction of teaching learning process, the teaching experiences can be organized into Models of Teaching. Concept Attainment Model (CAM) is an Information Processing Model proposed by Jerome Bruner with an objective of development of inductive thinking and concept development. Concept Attainment Model (CAM) can be applied in all subjects and at all levels of education. An example of using CAM in Biology- ‘Communicable Diseases’ for Standard- X is elucidated in the present paper.
