Portfolio Management of a Horticulturist: A Case Study of Shimla District

As the common concept of economics is that the investments are based on savings, the classical economist accepts that there is a clear relationship between savings and investment. The shift of the people from the traditional agricultural activities to horticultural activities has enhanced their income, and likewise purchasing power, savings and ultimately the living standard. The present study deals with the investment pattern of the horticulturist in physical as well as in financial assets. In the present study emphasis has been drawn to search the degree of the amount invested from the savings of the horticulturists in the selected areas of Shimla district.
