This paper deals with the concept of the same and the other in fairy tales. This extends to humanity itself. It is interesting to note how the humans who are bored with the ‘same’ are fascinated with the ‘other’. Thus they are also fascinated by the fairy tales, which are to a great extent a projection of this ‘other ’.
