At the national level, energy consumption and demand have increased dramatically in India. Self-sufficiency is now a major concern politically and strategically. A process of reform and acceptance is therefore underway. Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) can be one of the solutions adopted by all state electricity boards (SEBs). This article explains what EPC is and how it was used in two DSM programs being implemented in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
