Smile is a very important component of facial esthetics. With the increasing demand of Aesthetic dentistry, patient’s hope to enhance their smile are also increasing. Therefore to give functionally stable and aesthetically pleasing smiles, it is of prime importance that the problem is evaluated and diagnosed through a systematic and organised approach. Digital software is a multiuse conceptual dental treatment planning tool that is used in interdisciplinary esthetic dentistry, allowing a thorough workflow simulating the rehabilitation of a patient, simply starting with appropriately calibrated photos and videos. This digital information is utilized in planning the cases from the basic evaluation process to planning a treatment protocol which indeed includes a mock up and better demonstration of the final outcome to be achieved. Various digital software programs have been developed for recreating smiles to assist clinicians in this process. Therefore, this article reviews the aspects of digital softwares in aesthetic dental practice.
