Meta analysis of oral rehabilitation in patients with maxillofacial defects -a systemic review

Abstract

Maxillofacial prosthetics is concerned with the restoration of the stomatognathic and craniofacial structures with prosthesis that are missing or defective because of surgical intervention, trauma, pathology or congenital malformation. The provision of a prosthesis is to restore their physiologic and psychologic functions. Classification of maxillofacial defects with various materials and techniques for prosthesis fabrication are illustrated and the role of the prosthodontics in surgery is emphasised.
