Abstract

One of the most challenging aesthetic problems is diastema with missing single anterior tooth as it results in an excessive mesiodistal dimension particularly if diastema exists before extraction. In these situations, there is no room for conventional fixed partial denture (FPD) as it would result in anterior tooth that is too wide. In these cases, loop connector fixed partial denture which has lost importance in time may be the simplest and best solution to maintain the diastema and provide optimum aesthetics. Hence this case report describes the procedure for the fabrication of a cantilevered modified loop connector fixed partial denture to restore an excessively wide anterior edentulous space in a patient with diastema and esthetic concerns.
